The medical profession is now using the iPhone to diagnose their patients.  The iStethoscope App is a program that provides doctors with a chart that displays the patient’s heartbeat.  Instead of listening to the heart the old-fashioned way, by using a stethoscope, the doctor can simply place the phone’s microphone to the chest of the patient and obtain the reading that they need.

Doctors that use their iPhone in this fashion should consider purchasing iPhone insurance.  A patient can easily knock the device out of the Doctor’s hands and it could fall to the floor.  The damage that the device will sustain could prevent the Doctor from treating other patients in the future.
