The tech giant Sony has never been reported in the past to supply any cameras for any Apple smart phone but things can always change, hopefully for the better. Recently, rumors are spreading based on a CNN report about Sony CEO Howard Stringer giving hints that Sony may actually provide supplies of eight - megapixel cameras for the upcoming and anticipated iPhone 5.

While OmniVision has been also rumored to be the possible supplier, they still might lose-out to be the final supplier of cameras that Apple will use in their next gen iPhone 5 that is predicted to be released mid-summer. Whatever the case maybe, if the camera will be better than the current iPhone 4, then it’s an engineering marvel that is worth waiting for.
